With regard to World Blood Donor Day, on June 13, 14 the award ceremony for voluntary blood donation was held in Georgian Central Blood Bank  - “Medinvest Georgia”  and National Center for Disease Control and Public Health. Roads Department of Georgia was awarded for supporting the disinterested donation at the event dedicated to World Blood Donor Day.

Director of Central Blood Bank presented certificate of gratitude to the Chairman of Roads Department, Davit Shavliashvili and Deputy Chairman, Vazha Panchulidze for contribution to development the disinterested donation.

Aide-memoire of cooperation was concluded in May between Roads Department of Georgia and  “Medinvest Georgia - Georgian Central Blood Bank”. Within the scope of aide-memoire and under  the campaign “Give blood, Save Lives” Roads Department, regional directorates and contracting companies will occasionally donate blood for persons injured in accidents and traffic collisions.

World Blood Donor Day, celebrated on June 14 every year in various countries throughout the world, serves to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation and to thank voluntary unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.
