Temporary road is opening in Dariali today at 12:00. Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Elguja Khokrishvili and Chairman of Roads Department Davit Shavliashvili are on-site. They were personally supervising work progress. 

Temporary road was opened as a result of 24-hour work of Roads Department and State Construction Company. Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia express appreciation to everyone whose tireless work resulted in opening of temporary road.

Traffic at Dariali section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road was closed on May 17, when 2 million cubic meters of ice and rock fell from glacier.

Road opening will enable the part of population, who lost communication with administrative center due to the disaster, participate in local self-government elections trouble-free. 

Traffic on temporary road is admitted for all mode of transport and it shall be controlled by Patrol Police of MIA.
