Temporary road will be opened in a few days in Dariali

Restoration work of the road in Dariali is ongoing. Despite the large volume of  flooding and landslide of May 17, from Devdorak ravine, and  difficult climatic conditions, restoration works are ongoing in 24 hours schedule.
Roads Department of Georgia and State Construction Company implement cleaning works of the damaged area. The aim of the current works is arrangement of the temporary road infrastructure. About 70 pieces of equipment and almost 170 employees are working in continuous mode.
Since the day of the disaster, according to the Prime Minister's instruction, emergency headquarters was set up, where the meetings are held, to plan the road-cleaning and searching-rescue works.
At present, a new riverbed was cut and it became possible to drain the water, which was accumulated as a result of landslides and flooding. Currently, works of the deepening of the riverbed of Terek are continuing.
To protect the personnel working on the place, several watch-points are created at the highest points of the valley Devdorak, they monitor landslide zones and have constant radio communication with working groups.
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Elguja Khokrishvili , other representatives of the Ministry, Chairman of Roads Department, David Shavliashvili and his deputies  personally supervise the ongoing work in Dariali.
