Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Elguja Khokrishvili viewed rehabilitation works of Tianeti - Zaridzeebi road in Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region.  Premier visited Mtskheta – Mtianeti within the frameworks of Regional tour.

The first phase of rehabilitation of Tianeti - Zaridzeebi section of Tianeti - Zaridzeebi – Zhinvali national significance road, has been started in September 2013. The road surface, on 9 kilometers, was arranged with improved-modified asphalt. 3 bridges, corrugated culverts and drainage network have been rehabilitated.  Also, there were carried out rehabilitation works of sidewalks, entrances to the yards, connections with local roads and street signs.

The construction company “Black Sea Group" implemented the project with total cost 8 888 888.00 GEL. 174 persons were employed on the works.

Currently, rehabilitation of the second phase of Tianeti - Zaridzeebi – Zhinvali road is being implemented. Construction-rehabilitation works are being carried out, on 13 – kilometer section of the road. Construction Company "Tbilisi" implements the project with total cost 21.177 million.

 It should be noted that this road has been constructed in 80 – years, and never has been rehabilitated after it. There was not asphalt surface ever on this road.

Until beginning of rehabilitation works, the technical conditions of Tianeti - Zaridzeebi road did not meet requirements. Because of bad conditions of the road, the problematic issues were: the maintenance of the population on the place and demographic development of the region. It was complicated transport access to the capital and neighboring regional centers.

Rehabilitation of 23 - kilometer section of Tianeti–Zaridzeebi road will provide the safe and convenient movement of transport. In addition, transport costs and travel time for passengers and local residents will be reduced.

Rehabilitation of Tianeti - Zaridzeebi – Zhinvali road will be completed by the end of 2015.

In addition to the inspecting of the works, during the visit, Irakli Gharibashvili and Elguja Khokrishvili met the local residents and were introduced with their problems.
