Rehabilitation of Batumi-Khulo road will be completed in the nearest future

Director of Roads Direction of Adjarian Autonomous Republic of Roads Department Zurab Sikharulidze and his Deputy Mindia Ghlonti inspected rehabilitation works ongoing on Batumi-Khulo road.

Works on respective section are progressing intensively and would be completed in summer 2014.  Length of Batumi-Akhaltsikhe secondary road is 8.2 km. Rehabilitation works are implemented by “Zimo 7 “Ltd. Cost of the project is GEL 2.27 mln.  Traffic safety works are being implementing on the second section of Batumi-Akhaltsikhe road that is to be rehabilitated.

Also 6km long Zomleti-Khikhadziri local road is under rehabilitation. Respective road is located in Khulo and runs through the territory of Skhalta Monastery. Project is implemented by financing of the World Bank and the value amounts to GEL 4 596 600. Approximately 100 locals are employed by the project. It should be mentioned that Zomleti-Khikhadziri section has not been rehabilitated within the recent 25 years.

As a result of rehabilitation, road capacity would be increased and traffic safety would be improved. Construction of a new road will promote to creation of a new social and economic perspectives.
