Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, George Amashukeli and the head of the Infrastructure Development Department of the Ministry, Avtandil Sudadze attended the session of Technical Council of Roads Department of Georgia.

4 Issues included in the agenda have been discussed on the session; among them the main directions of construction plan of 17 - kilometer section of local importance Rustavi - Lomtagora - Algeti road; Ltd "Georoadscince” works on the project.  According to preliminary data, the width of the road will be 8 meters, 3 viaducts and interchanges will be constructed.  After construction of Rustavi – Algeti road section, traffic on Rustavi-Tbilisi Highway and its surrounding areas will be significantly relieve; cargo transporters will use this road for transit as well.

In addition, according to  a government decree, design works  for construction of the entrance road of Kutaisi (Kutaisi - Geguti - Saqulia - Bashi- Ianeti  road )on Nikea street section are started. Its length will be 4 km, width - 6-6.5 meters. Since Ltd. “Transproject " complete the project work , the finished project will be submitted to the Government . If the project is approved, funds will be mobilized for the construction of the road.

Technical Council of the Roads Department of Georgia have discussed  the prior design-solutions of  rehabilitation of 7km section of national significance Rustavi - Tetritskaro – Tsalka road. The council also discussed the feasibility of rehabilitation of the bridge over the river Tskhenistskali.
