Final agreement was signed for construction-reconstruction of secondary Tianeti-Zaridzeebi-Zhinvali road. Bidding for rehabilitation of km10-km23 section was announced by Roads Department on March 10^th of the current year. Agreement was concluded with the winning company “Tbilisi”.   

Pursuant to the Agreement, Construction Company “Tbilisi” shall complete rehabilitation of km10-km23 section in late October 2015, afterwards rehabilitation of Tianeti-Zaridzeebi-Zhinvali road shall be finalized. Project budget amounts to GEL 21,177 mln.

First phase of rehabilitation of Tianeti-Zaridzeebi-Zhinvali road, which covered rehabilitation of 9 km section, commenced in September 2013 and would be completed in one month.  Pavement was upgraded by application of modified asphalt-concrete mixture improved with additives. 3 bridges were rehabilitated; corrugated culverts, drainage network, steel curvilinear posts and sign posts, sidewalks, entrances to private yards, junctions to local roads and road signs were arranged. Rehabilitation works of 9 km Tianeti-Zaridzeebi-Zhinvali road is implemented by Black Sea Group. Value of the project is GEL 8,888,888.00.

Respective road was constructed in 80-ies and has not been upgraded since that time. Asphalt pavement has never been laid.

Rehabilitation of 23 km Tianeti-Zaridzeebi-Zhinvali road would enable safe and comfortable movement for vehicles; at the same time transport costs and travel time would be decreased for passengers and local communities.
