Roads Department periodically provides information on rehabilitation and construction works progressing in various regions. This time, photo material and information on rehabilitation works ongoing at km16-km22 is provided.

Secondary Chalaubani-Sighnaghi-Anagi road section is located in Sighnaghi district. Project is being implemented under the Secondary and Local Roads Rehabilitation Project II (SLRP II), value of which is GEL 3 222 900. Project is financed by the World Bank and rehabilitation works are implemented by JSC “Kavkasavtomagistrali”.

Structures and levelling layer with sand-gravel mixture is already arranged at the carriageway of Chalaubani-Sighnaghi-Anagi road. At this stage, milling of asphalt-concrete pavement and reclaiming of asphalt for reuse is underway. Arrangement of levelling and stabilized layers on existing base, constriction of asphalt-concrete pavement, concrete pit and road curbs is progressing. 

Entrances to the private yards and sidewalks would be arranged within the scope of the project; also existing culverts would be repaired and new ones would be provided, road signs shall be installed and carriageway shall be marked. Reinforced-concrete supporting walls and junctions would be provided.

Rehabilitation of Chalaubani-Sighnaghi-Anagi road commenced in September 2013 and would be completed within the current year. As a result of rehabilitated road, local population and tourists would get a benefit and would be able to travel comfortably on International Tbilisi-Bakurtsikhe-Lagodekhi road.
