Today, David Narmania, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Nugzar Gasviani, Deputy Chairman of Roads Department and Mr. Vazha Panchulidze, Deputy Chairman, also other representatives of the Department participated in international workshop on “Road Safety and Development of Traffic Management System” organized by the the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Partnership for Road Safety at Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel.  

Nugzar Gasviani, First Deputy Chairman of RD made a presentation on road safety projects that are recently implemented, ongoing or planned for future by Roads Department. 

The issue related to increased traffic flows and impact of road safety on citizens was discussed.  Workshop covered not only road safety issues but also traffic management topics, such as traffic jam, traffic control in towns and on highway. Improvement of road safety in Georgia was reviewed at the workshop.

Well-known Dutch experts, Professor Fred Wegman and Mr. Godthelp were invited to the workshop. Also, representatives of the leading Dutch companies, who are specializing in various fields in terms of traffic management and road safety, were attended. 

Workshop covered not only road safety issues but also traffic management topics, such as traffic jam, traffic control in towns and on highway. The goal of the workshop is to provide the latest information to decision makers, experts and concerned business partners, share international experience and discuss with well-known experts improvement of road safety in Georgia.
