Mr. Vazha Panchulidze, Deputy Chairman, inspected rehabilitation works progressing at km21-km34 of Tbilisi Bypass Road.

Mentioned 13 km section is a part of 48 km long Tbilisi bypass road. Its technical condition did not correspond with modern standards of international roads.

Rehabilitation works commenced in September 2013 and will be completed in May of 2014. 40% of the project was implemented within the recent year.

Rehabilitation project considers capital upgrading of 13 km section and 7 bridges, also arrangement of junctions to local roads, marking of the carriageway with white nitrocellulose enamel, installation of road signs and strengthening of lower supporting walls with gabions.

Currently, arrangement of new pavement is progressing at bridge deck, recycling of road base and construction of two layer asphalt-concrete pavement is ongoing.

Project is implemented by State Construction Company LLC. 100 persons are employed under rehabilitation works.
