Members of tender committee reviewed tender announcement for procuring of design services for reconstruction-modernization of the road connecting to Kutaisi bypass road at Roads Department. Also issues related to approval of documentation were discussed. 

Several road sections will connect Kutaisi bypass road with central road passing through the city. Among them is a road starting from Geguti interchange that is under construction connecting to Nikea Street.

Width of the road from Geguti Interchange to Nikea street is 6 m, that is insufficient to bear traffic entering-exiting in/out of Kutaisi from the highway, also for the traffic moving from Kutaisi towards the villages – Geguti, Patriketi, Obshkviti, Sakulia, Bashi.

After completion of reconstruction-modernization of Kutaisi-Geguti interchange (widening up to four lanes) Kutaisi-Geguti-Sakulia-Bashi-Ianeti secondary road will be connected with new Zestaponi-Kutaisi-Samtredia highway and will become the main connecting interchange.

As a result of project implementation, traffic will become more convenient and comfortable for citizens.
